Vicky’s body recovered-Search on for DinahScotland, Nov 15: After 16 years of wait the mystery coiled around the missing of the teenage girl Vicky Hamilton has been unravelled. Her body was found buried in a garden in Margate Kent that is situated hundreds of miles away from her home town. Police authorities made sure that the body found out was of Vicky Hamilton.

The house in which the body was found was once used by peter Tobin, 61 considered as the key suspect in connection with the Vicky’s disappearance. He was arrested in July this month. He is expected to appear before the Linlithgow Sheriff Court today. Vicky Hamilton went missing on 10 February 1991; she was 15 years of age then. On a similar incident another teenager Dinah McNicol of Essex disappeared on her way home after attending a music festival in Hampshire.

A spokesman of the Essex Police assured that the investigating officers will continue their search in the home and the garden as they believe that Dinah’s body will also be found in the premises of the house as she was missing around the same year under similar circumstances.

The disappearance of Vicky has been considered as one of the unresolved issue. Her family members are compelled to believe that she was dead after their hope of her return began to fade over years. She was last seen alive in Bathgate beach. She was on her way from Livingston after visiting her sister there and was waiting to get a connection bus to Redding located near Falkirk. She never made the journey her purse was later on found near St Andrew Square bus station in Edinburgh. A fresh investigation of the case was launched early this year and Vicky’s DNA was found from a property during the police search operation.

Tim Wills, the Detective Superintendent while commenting on this said that: “We have concrete reasons to come here. We came to search the property in Margate, Kent as part of the investigation of Dinah’s disappearance. And the search is on progress. We are trying to find the answer for a crucial question of whether she was here at any time.”

Mary Mulligan, MSP of Linlithgow said: “This is very disappointing news, now the girl’s family can at least make necessary arrangements to lay her body to rest. All our prayers are with her kith and kin.”

As the investigation progress we can expect the mystery behind the Dinah McNicol’s disappearance will also unfold.
